All Have Sinned

Romans 3:23 says "All have sinned and called short of the glory of God".

No one in the world today is without sin. We all fall short of god's perfect standard.

Sin results in Death...

Romans 6:23 tells is that the result of our sin is death. Not just a physical death, but a spiritual death. A complete separation from God - who we were created to be with forever.

...But the gift of god is eternal life through Jesus Christ!

Romans 6:23 also says that the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus the Son of God. Jesus, who was without sin, came in the flesh and lived among us. The Bible tells us that he took the sins of the world into himself and died in our place. The Bible also tells us that on the third day he rose again from the grave.

What does this mean?

Because Jesus died for our sins, the penalty for sin is taken away when we place our faith in him. Because he rose to new life, we also are raised to new life when we place our faith in him. We can be made into a new creation. As Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 5:17 "If anyone is in Christ, he/she is a new creation. The old has gone. The new has come."

Where to Start

Romans 10:9 gives us the promise that if we confess with out mouths "Jesus is Lord of my life" and honestly believe that God raised him from the dead that we will be saved. The Prayer looks something like this:

"God, I know that I've sinned and fallen short in my life. I believe that your Son, Jesus came and died for my sin and that he rose on the third day. And I confess now that Jesus is Lord of my life. I repent of my sin and ask forgiveness in Jesus's name."

What now?

It's very important that you find a church that you can be a part of. We can't do the Christian life alone. We need each other to grow and be effective as followers of Jesus. If you live near Rochester Indiana, we would love to see you this weekend on Saturday at 6pm, or Sunday at 9:15 or 10:30am. Click Here for more info on our services.
